The phone’s back is AG glass, while the side frames are metal. On the front, Xiaomi has also employed Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. There are three color options for the phone, as well as a Special Edition with Wild Green Leather.

Performance & Memory

This phone, like the Xiaomi 12 Pro, is powered by Qualcomm’s top Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. You can pick between three memory configurations: 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are used in all models. The phone comes with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12.

Xiaomi has integrated a 2600mm2 vapor chamber cooling system to keep the phone’s temperature in check.

Camera

The phone has a triple camera arrangement on the back, led by a 50MP sensor. The Xiaomi 12 uses a 1/1.56′′ Sony IMX766 sensor with 2.0m 4-in-1 pixel binning, unlike its Pro sister. Optical Image Stabilization is even built into the primary sensor (OIS). It comes with a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP telemacro lens.

In addition, the Xiaomi 12 has a cool feature called the CyberDog’s “CyberFocus” feature. It’s a sophisticated focusing mechanism that can recognize various types of subjects and track their movements.
On the front, there’s a 32-megapixel selfie camera with enhanced beauty portrait mode.

Rest of the specs

Moving on, the Xiaomi 12 is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery. Unfortunately, it lacks the Surge P1 chip found in the Pro version. It does, however, allow 67W cable charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. An in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6 connection and Bluetooth 5.2 are among the other interesting features.
