Google Pixel Watch
When will the Pixel Watch be available?
A long time could be on the way. Google appears to be on the verge of releasing hardware to match its latest version of Wear OS, which includes features from Tizen and Fitbit. Smartwatches and fitness trackers are one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics categories, according to Google. It would be prudent for Google to provide a standalone model as an accessory for its Pixel smartphones, such as the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, as well as the impending Google Pixel 6a and Pixel 7.
If Google does release a Pixel Watch, it will compete with the Apple Watch 7, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, and all other top smartwatches.
A slew of patents and acquisitions in the wearable market (ahem, Fitbit) indicate that the Pixel Watch will be released sooner rather than later. Furthermore, an increasing number of speculations suggest that the Pixel Watch is unmistakably genuine and that it will be released within the next few months.
So, when can we expect the Pixel Watch? And how will it appear? What distinguishes it from the competition? Here are all of the rumors we’ve heard about the Google Pixel Watch, including its debut date, pricing, and design. For more future-gazing, see our Google in 2022 post.
Google Pixel Watch information (updated April)
The extremely curved display and the Pixel 6-style interface have recently surfaced in what may be the first official depiction of the Pixel Watch. According to Evan Blass, a recent Google Pixel Watch leak of the online manual alludes to a launch that might happen soon.
The Google Pixel Watch will be unveiled at Google I/O, according to leaker Jon Prosser, but will be available in October.
The Google Pixel Watch may come with an unusual yet fascinating set of touch capabilities. Colors and storage details for the Pixel Watch have been leaked from a US carrier’s inventory.
Google Pixel Watch release date
While the Google Pixel Watch was previously expected to be released in May, leaker Jon Prosser now believes it will be unveiled during Google I/O in May before being sold in October. Prosser wrote, “From what I gather, Google will formally be unveiling the Pixel 6a + “teasing” the Pixel Watch,” in reference to what to anticipate at Google I/O, which is mostly a developer-focused event. ” Pixel Watch will be announced and released alongside the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro in October. “
Another leak from Evan Blass mentions wear OS 3.1 and claims it “won’t be long now,” implying that the Pixel Watch might be released this spring.
Price of the Google Pixel Watch
Is the Google Pixel Watch available for purchase? It wouldn’t cost as much as an Apple Watch if we had to guess. There aren’t many Google Pixel Watch pricing leaks to rely on, but we’d say it’ll be in the mid-range. The Apple Watch Series 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 both start at $399 and $249, so we expect Google will try to undercut these two devices marginally. The Google Pixel 6 series is similarly less expensive than both the Galaxy S22 and the iPhone 13.
It won’t be the cheapest choice on shop shelves, but depending on size and LTE options, it might cost between $200 and $350. Again, this is simply speculation based on what we know about Google’s hardware division’s pricing approach. The watch, according to Insider, will be more expensive than a Fitbit.
Google Pixel Watch Wear OS
The Pixel Watch will have Google’s Wear OS platform, which comes as no surprise. What, on the other hand, may make the program unique or, should we say, superior?
Continuous heart-rate monitoring through Google Fit, contactless payments with Google Pay, and hands-free Google Assistant access, as well as a Google Play smartwatch store, are all popular Wear OS features on third-party smartwatches like TicWatch and Fossil. These features didn’t always make up for Wear OS’s faults, but with the Galaxy Watch 4, the newer, more streamlined version of Wear OS works brilliantly. When new Wear OS-eligible smartwatches are upgraded in early 2022, we should get a clearer feel of what Wear OS looks like without Samsung’s own integrated UI.
Meanwhile, according to an Insider rumor, the Pixel Watch will contain basic functionality such as step tracking and heart rate monitoring. It also alleged that Google’s acquisition of Fitbit might lead to some sort of Fitbit integration with Wear OS, dubbed “Nightlight” by the publication.
Conclusion
The Google Pixel Watch is a great option for anyone looking for a quality smartwatch that offers many unique features. It is well-designed, performs well, and has long battery life.
