Introduction

Released on 2020, October 23, the iPhone 12 has been on the list of many iPhone lovers in Nepal. The iPhone 12 also features a revolutionary design with increased durability, an OLED screen, and 5G capability, among other features. The new OLED screen has fewer bezels than ever before, and there’s also a new MagSafe charging technology that’s magnetically linked. It’s also one of the smallest iPhones offered.

Display and Design

This new Ceramic Shield covers the entire front, and it has already proven to be extremely durable in drop tests, just as Apple promised. The glass is additionally ion-strengthened for better scratch resistance, and it has an oleophobic coating for smudge resistance.
The back panel is likely created by Corning as well, although it does not use the latest ceramic formula and is not as resistant to breakage as the front. But it’s no worse than any Gorilla Glass, and we’d say that’s to be expected.

The new screen is known as Super Retina XDR OLED and features a resolution of 1,170 x 2,532 pixels or 460 pixels per inch. It is totally flat and protected by Corning’s innovative Ceramic Shield glass.

As a result, the content on our new Super Retina XDR OLED panel is HDR10 and Dolby Vision compatible. It offers True Tone adjustments, Wide Color support, and the Haptic Touch function offered by the Taptic Engine beneath the screen, the same as the iPhones before the 12.

Apple was supposed to be releasing 120Hz panels named ProMotion this year, however, this did not happen. The iPhone 12’s four screens all have a 60Hz refresh rate. They all have 120Hz touch input, just as previously.

Performance and Memory

The iPhone 12 series is powered by Apple’s new A14 Bionic processor. It is the world’s first 5nm chipset, with a massive 11.8 billion transistors, which is 40% higher than the A13. The A14, like the previous Apple CPUs, has a six-core processor. It contains two large Firestorm cores clocked at 3.1GHz and four little Icestorm cores rated at 1.8GHz, with the ability to TurboBoost to 3.1GHz as needed. The improved processor is expected to perform 50 percent better than the A13s.

The iPhone 12 features 4GB of RAM, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro has 6GB. Because the Apple A14 Bionic includes Qualcomm’s X55 5G modem, the whole iPhone 12 family now offers 5G connectivity.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 12 has a camera system that is comparable to that of the iPhone 11. On the back, there are two 12MP cameras, and on the front, there is a 12MP selfie camera.

Portrait mode in selfies is further aided by the SL 3D scanner for Face ID. A 12MP sensor with 1.4m big pixels and a 26mm wide lens is used in the primary camera. The iPhone 11’s aperture has been increased to f/1.6 from f/1.8. Dual pixel autofocus and optical picture stabilization are both offered.
Another 12MP imager with smaller 1.0m pixels and a 13mm f/2.4 lens for ultrawide shots is used in the second camera. There is no OIS and the focus is fixed.

A 12MP sensor with 1.0m pixels and a 23mm f/2.2 lens is used in the selfie camera. The focus has shifted once more. When using portrait mode on this camera, the structured-light 3D scanner captures depth information, so you should be able to take some beautiful selfie portraits.

Rest of specs

The latest iOS 14.1 is pre-installed on all new iPhones. It’s a modest update to iOS 14 that largely resolves bugs and adds support for 10-bit HDR video playback for iPhones 8 and higher, allowing you to play footage recorded with the iPhone 12 properly.
The Apple iPhone 12 has a 2,815mAh battery, which is around 10% smaller than the iPhone 11’s. Despite this, Apple promises the same battery life as the iPhone 11, thanks to the new A14 Bionic chip’s increased efficiency. It’s not the same, to be sure.
